Originally, Gargano, the only wholly apulian mountain,
was an isle. It was a destination of religious and tourist
pilgrimage since ancient times. In medieval time it
attracted numerous believers that reached the “red
mountain”, for Saint. Michael’s cult, through
muleteers and paths defined sacre.
Today it doesn’t exist a centre in the Gargano
that isn’t really reachable. A holiday in the
Gargano area, offers breathtaking landscapes which follow
one after another for more than 130 km of cost , beaches,
coves, sea grottos, rocks, and faraglioni, cliffs with
unforgettable views, characteristic small towns that
you can find along the cost and wonderful archaeological
ruins.

and these transform any holiday in Apulia in an unforgettable
one. Who wants to spend his holiday in Gargano and in
our residence will test the flavours that only sea towns
can offer, and enjoys a protected nature thanks to the
institution of the national park of Gargano. He will

pilgrims who came in this land along the way that from
Santiago reached the Holy Land.
He will admire the “trabucchi”, fish constructions

panoramic road that expand along the most part of the
Gargano cost, touches many coastal towns as San Nicandro
Garganico, Carpino, Rodi Garganico, Peschici, Vieste;
mattinata and Manfredonia. Of great importance are also
the inner towns among whom we remember Monte Sant’Angelo
that, together with San Giovanni Rotondo and San Marco
in Lamis are famous pilgrimage destination, and attest
how the Gargano has been a place of religious fervour
since mediaeval time and also thanks to the works of
Father Pio.
Cultural
manifestations
Gargano is sea , culture and traditions that are realised
in suggestive events: “Dauno Carnival”in
Manfredonia with its celeber carriages and groups parades.
In July “Vieste film fest” and Festambientersud
in Monte S.Angelo, the big party of legambiente which
has the title of “Bread, Oil and South”
Between July and August tarantella fest dedicated to
the various kind of tarantella, instruments and voices
of the popular traditions. In August in Mattinata has
place “La notte dei Faraglioni.” an annual
appointment with national protagonist of the show business
and the delivery.of the prize Ambiente Faraglioni di
Puglia to personalities that distinguished themselves
for the tutelage and conservation. In august Carpino
folk festival that attract every yearthousend tourists.
In the second half of August for who loves jazz there
is the manifestation “Suoni in cava” in
Apricena in the suggestive stones quarries.
